Lead Testing at OGE

Dr. R. Stephen Green, Superintendent

October 21, 2016

Dear Oak Grove Elementary family,

The health and safety of all students and staff are, and always will be, our top priorities.

With this in mind, we are proactively testing the drinking water for lead in each of our 150 schools, centers, and facilities.

We have completed a comprehensive evaluation of drinking water sources at your facility. We are pleased to announce that the results reveal no presence of lead at or above the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb).

Detailed results are available online at www.dekalbschoolsga.org/lead-testing. You can access this site directly – by entering the URL into your browser – or link to the site from the District homepage, school homepage, or through the District App.

We invite you to visit the website to explore the many resources available to you. In addition to a District-wide map displaying up-to-the-moment test results, you’ll find details of testing schedules and methodology, answers to frequently asked questions (FAQ), and links to lead-specific information from the EPA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and more.

Should you have questions, please submit by email to [email protected], or contact the lead-in-water testing hotline at 678-676-1222.

Regards,

R. Stephen Green, Ed.D
