The Girls on The Run Spring 2014 Season is returning to Oak Grove Elementary.
Girls on the Run is an organization determined to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. The program consists of training for a 5K race while incorporating character building and self-esteem enhancing activities. Participants gain a better understanding of how to make healthy decisions, resolve conflict, maintain a positive attitude, and build strong and supportive relationships.
The program is open to 3rd -5th grade girls.
Teams of 8-15 girls meet twice a week after school for 90 minutes.
The season is 12 weeks long.
Certified, volunteer coaches lead curriculum that teaches life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games.

- Jan.15th, 9:00 am - Registration opens
- February 16th - Registration closes
- February 10th - Program begins
- February 16th - Last day for refunds
- April 26th – 8:00 am - Girls on the Run 5K Run/Walk Celebration
- April 28th - Last week of all programs, wrap up event.
